Théo Tobiasse (1927-2012)

Theo Tobiasse,  a leading figure of the School of Paris, was born in Jaffa, Israel, and moved with his family to Paris in 1931. Best known for his expressive paintings, prints, and sculptures, Tobiasse developed a highly personal visual language characterized by vibrant color, fluid line, and richly layered symbolism.

Drawing inspiration from biblical narratives, Jewish heritage, mythology, and deeply personal memories, his works celebrate themes of love, family, identity, and the human experience. His distinctive compositions, filled with graceful figures, dreamlike imagery, and luminous palettes, combine poetic storytelling with expressive freedom, making his art instantly recognizable.

Throughout his career, Tobiasse exhibited internationally, earning widespread acclaim across Europe, the United States, and Japan.
